One of our largest teams is solely dedicated to ensuring our Transcat’s quality standards, among the highest in the industry, are met – every time. This 16-member team is not only active in setting and maintaining Transcat’s quality standards and pursuing continual improvement; they are also renowned in the industry as experts. Their technical writings, industry lectures, and advisory board positions have reached all corners of the industry.

Get to know some of the Technical Research and Operations team members.

Howard Zion, Director of Service Applications Engineering

Before joining Transcat, Howard held positions at the USAF Strategic Air Command, Lockheed-Martin, NASA-Kennedy Space Center, and Philips Electronics. During his 37 years in Metrology, Howard has collected a wealth of knowledge. He has authored 32 white papers, participates on industry committees, has held an advisory board position at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte (UNCC) and sponsored Engineering Capstone projects at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Mr. Zion is also a recipient of the Andrew J. Woodington award for Professionalism in Metrology, presented at the 2019 Measurement Science Conference. With these credentials it is no surprise that he is widely sought after for his invaluable expertise!
